Project Manager - Maintenance

About this role:


The Project Manager in the company plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of landscaping projects from inception to completion. This role involves planning, scheduling, and managing resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. By acting as the central point of communication between clients, internal teams, and subcontractors, the Project Manager ensures all stakeholders are aligned, and client expectations are met or exceeded. They are also responsible for identifying risks, resolving issues, and ensuring all work complies with safety and environmental regulations.


In addition to operational duties, the Project Manager fosters strong client relationships and upholds the company’s reputation for excellence in landscaping. They ensure that projects reflect the company’s commitment to innovative design, sustainable practices, and outstanding customer service. Through effective leadership, problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail, the Project Manager drives project success and contributes to the overall growth and success of the company.


Roles, Responsibilities, Duties


Project Leader

Oversee all aspects of landscaping projects, ensuring they are executed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.


Client Liaison

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are understood and met .


Team Coordinator

Manage and direct teams, including designers, field crews, and subcontractors, to achieve project goals.


Resource Manager

Optimize the allocation of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, for efficient project delivery.


Compliance Overseer

Ensure adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.


Planning and Scheduling

Create detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones, ensuring alignment with client expectations and budget constraints.

Set realistic timelines for each phase of the project and monitor progress to prevent delays.


Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with designers to finalize creative concepts and ensure they align with client visions.

Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain seamless operations and timely delivery of materials.


Budget Management

Develop and manage project budgets, monitoring expenses to avoid cost overruns.

Approve purchase orders, invoices, and other financial documents while maintaining cost control.


On-Site Supervision

Conduct regular site visits to oversee progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Lead teams in resolving unexpected challenges, such as adverse weather conditions or design modifications.


Quality Assurance

Perform quality checks at various stages of the project to ensure the work meets technical specifications, client expectations, and the company’s standards.

Document and address any deviations from the original plan or design.


Occupational and workplace Health and Safety responsibilities:

In addition to all job specific responsibilities, all employees are required to adhere to all Basatin health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, practices, and relevant legal and statutory health, safety and environmental requirements and obligations. All employees are personally responsible to familiarize themselves with these policies, procedures, practices, updates, etc. Basatin HSE department regularly updates existing and introduce new policies, procedures and practices and each employee is personally responsible to ensure they stay updated and compliant with all such updates and new additions.


Information Security responsibilities:

  • Comply with Basatin Information Security Policies
  • Be aware of and fulfil their information security responsibilities
  • Ensure whoever handles sensitive company information have taken the Security Awareness Training
  • Know how to report a security incident (to IT ServiceDesk or InfoSec).
  • Not Disable his/her OS firewall and/or Antivirus
  • Restrict use to authorized purposes, Protect access accounts, privileges and associated passwords.
  • Accept accountability of his/her individual user accounts, and maintain confidentiality



Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred fields: Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • A Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a specialized landscaping program can be an added advantage.
  • 5 to 7 years experience in landscaping industry or similar field

Flexibility to adapt plans as project dynamics change.


Budgeting and Financial Management

Competence in creating and managing project budgets, ensuring financial resources are used efficiently.

Ability to monitor expenses and make adjustments to keep projects within financial constraints.


Technical Proficiency

Understanding of landscape design principles, horticulture, and construction processes.

Familiarity with design software and tools relevant to landscape architecture.


Client Relationship Management

Skill in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring their expectations are met and addressing any concerns.

Ability to communicate project progress and outcomes effectively to clients.


Risk Management

Capability to assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and outcomes.

Proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety concerns on-site.



Time Management

Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure deadlines are met.

Efficient scheduling of labor, equipment, and materials to avoid delays.
