Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for delivering and leading the assigned project. This includes review of handover documentation from Tender Team, Project Kick-off, planning, executing, controlling, monitoring and closing out the project, while managing risks, opportunities, commercial management, timelines, resources and the entire scope of the project. The Project Manager is required to act as the primary focal point of contact between JEG Senior Management, the Client, Consultants and the JEG Project Delivery Team ensuring the desired project objectives are delivered meeting all set project objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Critique tender documentation / Pre-Construction project handover documentation, identify project risks and opportunities with Project Leads.

Manage the expectations of project leadership and stakeholders throughout the project.

Ensure all departments are complying with all standard JEG SOP’s.

Responsible for managing the execution of all project milestones/deliverables. Establish and monitor program and project controls KPI's.

Act as a primary day to day liaison to the client project leadership teams and project execution partners.

Identify and resolve disputes quickly and reasonably with Project Stakeholders.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, in keeping with the size and complexity as mutually agreed upon by the JEG organization SOP and the Project Director.

Provide leadership and actively manage the project team resources within the confines of the project, identifying any deficiencies to the Project Director.

Ensure that the health and safety requirements are provided in coordination with HSE Manager and that they comply with JEG HSE requirements and authorities’ regulations. Ensure regular audits are carried out for EHS compliance and any remedial actions are implemented in coordination with the HSE Manager.

Manage detailed project planning documentation in conjunction with the Project Controls Engineer (Execution Plans, Risk Mgmt. Log, Status Reports, Schedule Reports, Progress Reports), these reports shall be prepared in accordance with Regional JEG Standardized Reporting Template formats.

Manage detailed Project Budget Reports detailing Preliminaries, Procurement, indirect and direct staff, Subcontractors and overheads / Cost forecasts in conjunction with the QS / Project Controls Engineer with consultation of Project Director and Commercial Director

Actively manages, communicates and mitigates project risks and issues and escalates when necessary.

Establish a mechanism to ensure collaborative problem solving with the site delivery team, which will involve regular dialogue with contractors, team working and risk-sharing. Ensuring all issues are recorded and resolution actions are tracked and closed in coordination with Project Controls Lead.

Oversee the award of subcontracts in coordination with MEP Manager and Commercial Director to ensure all scope of works are identified to eliminate as much as possible subcontractor change requests due to “gaps in scope” and contractual conditions are aligned with JEG regional policies.

Accurately check and sign-off in coordination with QS and Commercial Director (as applicable) on all payment certificates and invoices.

Manage project scope and change Management and escalates issues where necessary to the Regional Project Director and Commercial Director.

Atten stakeholder meetings as requested / defined in Project Execution Plan

Chair internal meetings as required with JEG Project Leadership Team to discuss key issues related to the project and take effective corrective actions, ensuring minutes of meetings are recorded.

Organize Inter-Departmental workshops and team meetings, when necessary to ensure alignment of project deliverables and timeframes (e.g., Engineering, HSE, Procurement, HR)

Oversees project QA/QC audit program in coordination with QA/QC Manager / Lead and ensure all remedial actions are implemented to maintain project compliance with SOPs.

Monitors project and individual team performance against work estimates / KPI’s and intervenes when necessary to ensure that the project stays on schedule, cost, scope and quality.

Provides status reports both operational and commercial to the project leadership weekly or monthly as agreed during project kick-off.

Manage the design and site delivery team’s performance of delegated responsibilities.

Ensure the site delivery team receives any necessary stakeholder decisions in a timely fashion to enable and ensure project milestones are met.

Plan for and undertake annual performance reviews for all project Team members, which can be helpful for the employee performance and personal development review process.

Resolve cross-functional issues at project level, escalate where necessary.

Manage project personnel training where deficient and necessary within the defined budget.

Provide regular input to the continuous improvement log (lessons learned), implementing changes where deficiencies are identified and corrective actions proposed.

Ensure awareness and compliance of the QSP’s which are located and maintained in the JEG Group Quality Library.

Experience And Qualifications

Time served apprenticeship an advantage.

Minimum 10 years work experience on construction projects / Minimum 3 years as a Project Manager.

Qualifications commensurate with position: Role applicable degree from a reputed university / Trade Qualifications NVQ, etc.

Experience in Data Centre Projects.

Competent in the use of PC applications.
