Project Manager (Substations)

Roles & responsibilities

We, at Emarat Aloula is seeking for an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to oversee 132KV/11KV substation projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing high-voltage substation projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards, budgetary controls, and client expectations. Familiarity with TRANSCO standards and systems, coupled with a PMP certification, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Plan, execute, and deliver 132KV/11KV substation projects from initiation to commissioning.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet deadlines and financial constraints.
  • Ensure strict adherence to project scope, quality, and client requirements.

Technical Leadership:

Supervise and guide engineering teams in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of substations.

Address and resolve technical challenges to ensure seamless project delivery.

Ensure compliance with TRANSCO standards, industry regulations, and safety protocols.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with TRANSCO and other regulatory bodies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related inquiries and issues.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring efficient collaboration.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure all activities comply with local regulations, international standards, and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit detailed project reports, including progress updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation, including as-built drawings and technical records.

Desired candidate profile

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Civil Engineering.

Experience:

  • At least 15 years of experience managing high-voltage substation projects, including 132KV/11KV systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in overseeing projects within TRANSCO’s jurisdiction is highly preferred.

Certifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of 132KV/11KV substation design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
