Urban Engineers is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Project Manager for transit and railroad planning, delivery, and operations programs for public (and private) passenger and freight rail clients. The work includes management of multi-discipline transit infrastructure and projects for the full life cycle (including planning, design, procurement, construction, operations, and maintenance), as well as coordination between these functions and related departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing activities related to project scope, schedule, cost, quality, quality, communications, resources, procurement, and risk elements required to optimize quality assurance and fiscal outcomes
  • The Project Manager’s overall objective is to lead the technical and administrative staff for successful execution of contractual obligations
  • Responsible for building and maintaining positive client and stakeholder relationships and leading the project to achieve positive financial outcomes
  • Project teams led by the Project Manager may include support staff from various other consultants and/or client personnel themselves
  • Interface with supporting departments to monitor the timely and efficient delivery of services
  • Interface with public agencies, corporations, governmental officials, and consultants
  • Provide supervision of staff to deliver projects and oversee the project controls, document control, and other administrative services to monitor the development, delivery, and operational services required to support projects and programs
  • This position may also involve supporting the oversight of various projects as a Project Management Oversight Contractor (PMOC)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program OR Bachelor of Architecture from a NAAB Accredited Program
  • Experience in Project Planning, Engineering, Design, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and Maintenance of major capital projects including passenger rail or related transportation modes
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with at least 3 years’ experience in major transit capital projects.
  • Experience working directly with client executive level staff is preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of standard Microsoft Office products and the ability to become competent with latest Project management software and reporting systems
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written

Pay Rate: $160,000.00-$175,000.00

Location: Philadelphia, PA or Baltimore, MD | Remote Work Considered
