The VCP Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering design-related cost productivity programs that meet established material productivity targets with quality and discipline. This role oversees project planning and execution across multiple functions and drives operational excellence within the department. The position requires strong technical understanding, program management capability, and the ability to influence global, cross‑functional teams.
Roles and Responsibilities
VCP Program Leadership

Lead end-to-end execution of modality design VCP projects, including Material, Service, Logistics, and CCP (Manufacturing) initiatives.

Deliver sustainable, year-over-year cost-out and productivity improvements for the modality.

Build and maintain a prioritized VCP project portfolio and lead top strategic projects with cross-functional global teams.
Governance & Execution Excellence

Develop robust governance mechanisms and discipline for VCP project identification, execution, and savings validation.

Demonstrate strong project management skills to meet quality, performance, schedule, and cost CTQs in a global environment.

Drive standards setting by collaborating closely with engineering and sourcing teams.
Cross-functional Collaboration

Partner with engineering, product management, manufacturing, operations, marketing, and sales to identify cost-out opportunities and market-driven productivity initiatives.

Maintain close coordination with engineering and product teams to drive strategies that reduce part-level cost.
Operational Capability Building

Build organizational capability in VCP, cost-out methodologies, and productivity frameworks.

Drive VCP and Lean activities—including DCWs, Supplier Days, workouts, value stream mapping, brainstorming sessions, and Kaizen events—to optimize cost.

Foster a strong culture of Lean and continuous cost optimization across the modality and supply base.
Technical & Business Acumen

Apply engineering fundamentals, global program management experience, and business understanding to influence the full product lifecycle.

Ensure proper documentation, planning, execution, and reporting of cost-out programs.
Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Electronics Engineering from an accredited university or college.
Required Skills

10+ years of experience as a lead engineer or project lead in multi-disciplinary medical device development.

Strong understanding of QMS, regulatory processes, and design controls.

Excellent documentation skills, including test design and test script development.

Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Proven experience leading projects and working cross-functionally with global teams.
