Project Manager/Construction Superintendent

The Project Manager position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, quality control, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and ensuring the company achieves its goals. The Project Manager should set high standards of customer service and lead by example to drive operational efficiencies including being hands-on as needed to ensure profitably. Given the fact that our services are performed on-site at customer locations, the Project Manager will perform frequent site visits to ensure company employees exhibit the highest level of professionalism to make sure customers are satisfied with the services provided by the company.

Business Development Responsibilities

  • Build client relationships in order to offer additional services and to receive referrals
  • Provide accurate cost estimates in a timely manner when requested by potential clients
  • Negotiate as needed with potential clients while still maintaining project and company profitability
  • Maintain availability for after-hours calls
  • Create, or Find and coordinate monthly training for crew members
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with qualified subcontractors to ensure reliable coverage, competitive pricing, consistent quality, and alignment with project schedules and company standards.
  • Request, collect, and maintain current workers’ compensation, tax, and compliance documentation from all vendors and subcontractors to ensure regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and uninterrupted project execution.

Project Management

  • Coordinate with operations manager and office staff to schedule projects and assign resources (technicians, equipment, materials, etc)
  • Coordinate with structural engineers and coordinate pulling and inspections of all necessary permits
  • Forecast and manage project budgets
  • Become proficient in company technology
  • Maintain accurate records (purchases, invoices, timesheets, etc.)
  • Material ordering, tracking and costing.

Day-to-Day Operations

  • Training, developing and retaining qualified resources that meet high standards of excellence
  • Installation of projects will be required, also training for staff to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Drive an employee culture that trust, communication and safety is the highest priority
  • Ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly schedules, revenue goals, installation goals and objectives are met. Address issues as needed.
  • Drive operational efficiencies to improve project schedules and decrease project durations to maintain a competitive advantage
  • Send weekly reports to Operations manager and/or Owner

Quality Control

  • Display a high level of problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Continue to reinforce high standards of workmanship and quality of work.
  • Maintain a quality control checklist that will be used by the foreman to audit 100% of all projects
  • Perform quality control audits on 20% of projects and address any deficiencies with employees and/or foreman
  • Review quality control results with the operations manager on a frequent basis

Customer Satisfaction

  • Personally generate a minimum of $10,000 per month in hands-on revenue through direct field involvement, self-performed work, and active contribution to project execution.
  • Hands-on revenue generation keeps the Project Manager directly engaged in field operations, reinforces accountability, and supports labor efficiency. This alignment between leadership and execution improves productivity, cost control, and overall project performance.
  • Serve as the client’s point of contact for any questions or issues that the customer may have (that the foreman cannot answer)
  • Follow up with clients to ensure overall satisfaction
  • Address client concerns in a timely and complete manner
  • Maintain availability for after-hours calls to address client concerns

Benefits

  • Salary $65.000 annual
  • 1/2% bonus of total monthly production IF monthly revenue goal is achieved
  • 10% Commission on any projects for self generated leads upon payment in full to Smith Construction Services.
  • 5% Commission for upsells on current projects with proper documentation.
  • 2026 in house installation goal $100,000 monthly – This is subject to change

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
