The Junior Project and Operations Manager will be a critical member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing the successful execution of solar installation projects and optimizing manufacturing and supply chain operations. This role demands a high level of technical understanding in both roof-top and ground-mounted solar PV systems, exceptional project management skills, and a proven track record in operational efficiency within the solar manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management (Roof-Top & Ground-Mounted)
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle from design finalization and procurement to installation, commissioning, and handover for both commercial roof-top and utility-scale ground-mounted solar projects.
- Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans (PMP methodology is a plus).
- Ensure all projects adhere to safety, quality, regulatory standards, and contract specifications.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address technical issues, and ensure quality control.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams, as well as external EPC contractors and clients.
2. Operations and Manufacturing Support
- Collaborate with the Operations team to optimize the solar panel manufacturing process for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
- Manage the supply chain and logistics for project materials, focusing on timely delivery, inventory control, and vendor management.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for both project execution and manufacturing support activities.
- Monitor key operational performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management.
3. Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on project-related matters, ensuring clear communication and high customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable terms and ensure quality service delivery.
- Manage and mentor junior staff and site supervisors.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil preferred), Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in project management and operations within the solar PV industry, with significant exposure to both roof-top and ground-mounted solar projects.
- Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of solar PV system design, components (panels, inverters, racking), and installation best practices.
- Familiarity with local electrical and building codes and permitting processes.
- Experience with solar manufacturing processes and quality control standards.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana), CAD software, and MS Office Suite.
