Job Summary:
The Project/Packaging Engineer leads engineering initiatives to improve organizational productivity and develops and tests packaging to ensure product protection. This role drives equipment standardization across the network and supports cost reduction, FTE efficiency, and increased throughput.
Responsibilities

Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.

Lead automation projects across the network

Work with customers on effective packaging for their products

Work with procurement to develop proper packaging specifications

Identify equipment needs to deliver site-level cost and productivity goals

Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, testing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

Improve efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities, establishing standards, and confirming manufacturing processes.

Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products, according to specifications and quality standards.

Estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

Confers with management and other staff regarding capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Provide engineering expertise by answering questions and requests.

Maintain product and Company reputation by complying with governmental regulations.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing networks, and participating in groups/societies.

Communicate effectively with others.

Minimum Education & Experience
-
Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university with an Engineering focus.

7 – 10 years of Engineering experience in a manufacturing facility.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.

Must be able to understand blueprints and process specifications.

Excellent communicator

Knowledge of MS Project or other PMO software

Understanding of liquid filling equipment and vendors

Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence

Ability to develop project business cases and justifications

Strong understanding of mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

Demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally communicate with all levels within the organization.

Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work on-site.

Ability to read, write, and speak English competently.

Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Travel & Working Conditions

Primarily Office environment – climate-controlled
-
Regular visits to the manufacturing and warehouse – some temperature extremes, dust, and noise.

30 – 40% annual travel expectations with this position.
