  • Job Title: Project Planning Manager
  • Project Type: Steel Structure Fabrication and Erection Project
  • Location: UAE-Sharjah, near Sharjah International Airport. (Accommodation and transportation are not provided by the company.)

  • Job Description:
  • Specifically investigate the project requirements, participate in requirements discussions, and clarify project objectives, scope and key milestones.
  • Coordinate with all parties under the general contractor organization, organize the preparation of the external review period plan, and be responsible for the approval of the review according to the requirements of the main contract and combined with the general contractor construction plan.
  • Develop the detailed internal control plans, including schedules, resource plans, and cost plans, to ensure the tasks completed on time.
  • Identify the pain points and potential risks in the project plan, including technical, administrative, and external factors.
  • Develop the emergency plans to ensure that risks can be acted upon quickly to reduce the negative impact on the project.
  • Review subcontract and supplier schedules.
  • Track deviations between the actual and planned progress of the project in real time, and use project management software or tools for progress monitoring. Regularly check the completion of project tasks and record actual progress data.
  • Identify schedule deviations in a timely manner, analyze the factors that affect the project schedule, and provide internal feedback.
  • Combined with the analysis of schedule deviations, organize internal discussions within the project, and formulate schedule correction measures.
  • Participate in the progress coordination meeting of the client/general contractor organization, put forward our demands and protect our interests; Understand the progress of all parties, keep records and provide feedback within the project.
  • Organize regular project progress coordination meetings to discuss problems in project implementation and adjust the plan to solve existing challenges. The meeting should include project team members, relevant departments and external collaborators.
  • In response to client's changes, analyze the impact of the changes on the construction period, organize internal review, adjust the external construction plan and submit it for review, and be responsible for submitting it for approval.
  • Prepare weekly monthly progress reports as per the stakeholder requirement.
  • In view of the impact of progress caused by external reasons, make a record of the impact, keep evidence, and send a letter to client (general contractor) to declare.
  • Handle the correspondence of client (general contractor) on the plan and construction period in a timely manner to ensure our interests not damaged.
  • Combined with the construction impact record, cooperate with the contract department to prepare the construction claim document.
  • Cooperate with the contract department to deal with client's (general contractor's) counterclaim on the progress of the construction period.
  • Adjust the resource allocation plan according to the progress of the project to ensure that resources are used efficiently.
  • Monitor the progress of sub-suppliers, deal with possible problems in the supply chain, and ensure the timely supply of resources.
  • Confirm that all phases of the project have been completed to ensure consistency with the plan. Check that all tasks and milestones are met to ensure that the project is completed as a whole.
  • Communicate with the client on the completion of the project to ensure that the client is satisfied with the project outcome. Handle customer feedback and provide necessary explanations and support.
  • Resolve any plan-related issues identified during the acceptance process to ensure that the project meets the acceptance criteria.
  • Summarize the implementation of the plan during the implementation of the project, evaluate the degree of achievement of the plan, and identify improvement points. Prepare a project summary report to document project experiences and lessons learned.
  • Organize and archive project-related planning documents and records, including schedules, resource plans, and quality control documents. Provide reference materials for future projects for easy reference and learning.
  • Summarize project management experience, sort out successful experiences and failures, and share them with other project teams within the company.

  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • 1. Essential (Must-Have):
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Core Experience: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated project planning and scheduling experience, with a proven track record on major steel structure fabrication and erection projects.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in MS office tools and Oracle Primavera P6, including schedule development, resource loading, progress updating, and baseline management.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of construction methodologies, Critical Path Method (CPM), project controls, and risk management principles.
  • 2. Highly Preferred:
  • Regional Experience: Direct experience working for a main contractor or major subcontractor in UAE.
  • Claim Management: Demonstrable experience in delay analysis, recording project impacts, and collaborating with the commercial/contracts department to prepare claims and extensions of time.
  • Professional Certification: PMP, PSP, or similar project control certification.
  • 3. Key Competencies:
  • Analytical & Problem-Solver: Ability to analyze complex schedule deviations and develop effective recovery plans.
  • Strong Communicator & Negotiator: Excellent command of English, with the ability to confidently represent the company's interests with clients and main contractors.
  • Proactive & Meticulous: A forward-thinking mindset with exceptional attention to detail in tracking, documentation, and reporting.
