Project Superintendent *Location: El Paso, Texas *
Summary:
Gibraltar US is seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Superintendent to lead the field coordination, supervision, and execution of construction activities on U.S. Border Infrastructure projects. This role oversees all daily field operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale federal or heavy civil projects, with preference given to candidates who have worked on U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) vertical or waterborne barrier construction.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and schedules
- Coordinate and direct field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project objectives
- Maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and report updates to the Project Manager
- Enforce compliance with all safety standards, including OSHA and company policies
- Conduct daily field briefings and site inspections to ensure safety, quality, and productivity
- Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and survey teams to verify layout, elevations, and as-built documentation
- Manage field reporting, including timesheets, equipment logs, and daily progress reports
- Support preconstruction planning, including mobilization, sequencing, and resource allocation
- Communicate effectively with the owner, design team, and internal leadership to resolve field issues and maintain project momentum
What You Bring:
- Strong understanding of earthwork, concrete, steel, and infrastructure installation
- Proven leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in scheduling, reporting, and documentation tools such as Microsoft Project, Procore, or equivalent
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality execution
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or Lead Foreman in heavy civil, infrastructure, or federal construction
- Experience with U.S. Border wall or CBP projects preferred
- OSHA 30-hour certification required (or ability to obtain)
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required by project schedule
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to work in remote field environments
