Position Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly), Full-time
Salary Range: Starting at $17.00/hour
Work Hours: 40-hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Summary:
The projectionist is responsible for operating projection equipment and running
screenings daily at The Loft Cinema, under the oversight of the Theater General
Manager and the Assistant General Managers.
This job is a full-time job and requires onsite presence on a regular and ongoing basis.
This job is not eligible for remote work as a day-to-day or regular practice, but may be
remote for short, defined periods, for specific reasons and as authorized by the General
Manager or the Executive Director.
Primary Job Duties:
● Report directly to the General Manager and Assistant General Managers
● Have knowledge of, or be willing to be trained on, the use of digital, 35mm and
70mm film projectors and sound processors
● Ingest digital media and prepare media for playback weekly
● Safely handle and project 35MM and 70MM film
● Help set up and execute special events, including outdoor screenings, sing-a-
longs, short film competitions, panel discussions, among others
● Demonstrate and maintain a high level of attention to detail in all aspects
of projection, ensuring a high quality customer experience
● Have the ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and work independently
● Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the theaters and equipment
● Master all floor staff duties, including serving customers, P.O.S. systems, and
cleaning routines
● Ensure the comfort, safety and movie going experience of theatre patrons
● Have a baseline knowledge of the history and mission of The Loft Cinema
● Be willing to pitch in and support broader theater operations wherever necessary
to ensure smooth operations
Other Job Duties:
● Cleaning tasks and customer service as needed
● Other tasks as assigned and needed
Minimum Qualifications
● HS Diploma or GED
● Current Food Handler certificate (can complete upon hire)
● Current AZ State Liquor License (can complete upon hire)
● Prior customer service experience
● Basic audiovisual and media knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
● Prior live event or theater experience
● Audiovisual technical experience

Physical Requirements: This job is considered a HEAVY-duty job, as defined by the
Federal Code of Regulations, §404-1567, (d) Heavy work. Heavy work involves lifting
no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing
up to 50 pounds, including lifting over the head. If someone can do heavy work, we
determine that he or she can also do medium, light, and sedentary work.

Work Environment: This job is performed mostly in an indoor environment but will

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
