Proofreader – Editorial Team

Designer Greetings is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Proofreader to join our Editorial team. The ideal candidate has an exceptional command of grammar, punctuation, and style, along with a meticulous eye for consistency and accuracy.

This role is responsible for reviewing greeting cards, gift packaging, and related materials in digital format to ensure clarity, correctness, and adherence to brand and style guidelines prior to production.

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with the possibility of being fully remote; however, candidates must reside locally to Edison, NJ for training and periodic in-office collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proofread high-volume greeting card copy, packaging, and related materials
• Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting errors
• Ensure consistency in tone, terminology, voice, and brand standards
• Verify proper names, dates, holidays, and cultural references for accuracy
• Review materials prior to print production to ensure error-free release
• Meet tight production deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Minimum of 2+ years of professional proofreading experience (print experience preferred)
• Exceptional knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience in greeting cards, publishing, or print production is a plus
