We are a growing DFW-based real estate investment and property management group seeking an experienced Property Accountant to take ownership of accounting operations across our multi-family, single-family rehab, and title company entities. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys running the full accounting cycle across multiple entities and being a key partner to ownership as we continue to scale.

About Us

We own and operate a growing multi-family rental portfolio, a fix-and-flip / single-family rehab business (Hemani Homes), and a small title company. Our part-time Controller handles investor reporting and senior oversight; our offshore bookkeeping team handles daily transactional work. You will be the in-office accounting lead who connects these pieces, owns the work product, and delivers accurate financials to ownership and the Controller.

What You'll Own

  • Multi-Family Property Accounting (ResMan): Full-cycle accounting for our multi-family portfolio (currently 1 property growing to 3 by year-end). Accounts payable, vendor payments, tenant ledger review, rent roll reconciliation, bank and credit card reconciliations, month-end close, journal entries (including accruals and escrow), property-level financial reporting, and budget variance analysis.
  • Fix-and-Flip Bookkeeping Oversight (QuickBooks Online): Review and oversee the daily books maintained by our offshore contractor for Hemani Homes. Vendor payment review, materials cost tracking, credit card reconciliations, project cost monitoring, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Title Company Books: Set up and maintain the books for our small title company (4-5 closings per month), with proper escrow accounting controls and accurate monthly close.
  • Offshore Team Coordination: Work with our Pakistan-based bookkeeping contractor on Hemani Homes and our incoming Pakistan/Mexico bookkeeper supporting multi-family and single-family rental work. You will review their output, give clear direction, and ensure quality.
  • Banking & Vendor Operations: ACH/check/bill-pay processing, mobile and in-person bank deposits, vendor account setup and maintenance, Home Depot/HD Supply/utility account management, ResMan vendor and bank issue resolution with First United Bank.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare consolidated and entity-level financial reports for ownership and the Controller. Maintain SOPs (we have documentation in place from our prior accounting lead). Participate in property acquisition transitions, including vendor account transfers and onboarding new properties into ResMan.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 3+ years of property accounting or full-cycle bookkeeping experience (multi-family or commercial real estate strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with property management accounting software (ResMan, AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium, or similar)
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online for multi-entity bookkeeping
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and accrual-basis accounting
  • Comfort with multi-entity work and intercompany transactions
  • High attention to detail, organized, deadline-driven
  • Strong written and verbal communication for coordinating with offshore team and ownership
  • Authorization to work in the US (we are not sponsoring visas)

Strongly Preferred:

  • 5+ years of property accounting experience
  • Direct ResMan experience
  • Experience with title company / escrow / trust accounting
  • Experience overseeing offshore or remote bookkeeping staff
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
