Haustay Vacation Rentals manages 80+ premium coastal short-term rental properties with a focus on exceptional guest experiences and well-maintained homes. We are seeking a reliable, skilled Property Maintenance Technician to help keep our growing portfolio operating at a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs across a portfolio of vacation rental properties
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues identified by guests, housekeeping, or management
• Complete light electrical (fixtures, outlets), plumbing (faucets, toilets), drywall, painting, appliance setup, and general upkeep
• Conduct property walkthroughs between guest stays to proactively identify repair needs or improvements
• Maintain tools, pick up supplies, and keep accurate logs of work performed and time tracking through our software
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and support project execution as needed
• Communicate professionally with guests and team members during on-site visits to ensure a positive experience

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on maintenance or handyman experience (residential, hospitality, or property management preferred)
• Working knowledge of basic trades: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently
• Valid California driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, use ladders, and work in varied environments
• Strong time management, reliability, and attention to detail
• Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with guests when needed

Compensation & Benefits

• $28 – $32/hour (based on experience)
• Paid sick leave

• Consistent, full-time schedule (Thursday–Monday)
• Opportunity for advancement into Lead Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Supervisor roles
