Job Summary
As a Property Management Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of our property management operations. Your expertise in accounting principles and financial reporting will be essential as you manage accounts payable and receivable, prepare financial statements, and conduct thorough audits. You will collaborate closely with property managers and stakeholders to provide insightful financial analysis that drives strategic decision-making. What you’ll do

  • Manage the full cycle of accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Analyze cash flow and perform bank reconciliations to support effective financial management.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide mentoring and guidance on accounting best practices.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, or PeopleSoft to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and interpret data to inform stakeholders on key performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws including Securities law, governmental accounting standards, and tax regulations.

Basic qualifications

  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles and financial concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments.
  • Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of auditing procedures and experience with non-profit accounting is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and account reconciliation effectively.
