Property Manager – HUD Experience Required

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Property Manager with HUD experience to oversee the daily operations of an affordable housing community. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of HUD compliance, EIV, recertifications, and affordable housing regulations.

This position is responsible for managing applicants, completing annual and interim recertifications, maintaining compliance files, coordinating work orders, and overseeing the overall day-to-day operations of the property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the property, including leasing, tenant relations, and rent collection.
  • Process applicants and maintain waiting lists in accordance with HUD guidelines.
  • Complete annual and interim recertifications and ensure all resident files remain compliant.
  • Utilize EIV and property management software to verify and maintain accurate resident information.
  • Maintain organized tenant files and documentation to ensure readiness for HUD and compliance audits.
  • Coordinate and monitor maintenance requests and work orders to ensure timely completion.
  • Address tenant concerns and resolve issues professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with HUD regulations, Fair Housing laws, and landlord-tenant requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, vendors, inspectors, and management.

Qualifications

  • Previous HUD Property Management experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of HUD regulations, EIV, and recertification processes.
  • Experience with property management software (Yardi, OneSite, or similar systems preferred).
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and data management systems.
  • Excellent organizational and file management skills.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as a team player.
