Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is a “full-service agency” that provides law enforcement, jail, court security, and civil processing services to all areas of unincorporated Pierce County. The Property Room provides storage and safekeeping of property and evidence for Pierce County, City of Tacoma, and the cities of Dupont, Eatonville and Roy.
The Sheriff’s Office is comprised of 638 commissioned law enforcement and corrections staff and 67 civilian personnel. Together, these dedicated employees support our three bureaus, including Services, Corrections, Operations.

This rewarding and vital support position performs varied evidence control work that supports the criminal justice system. In addition to the Sheriff's Office, the Property Room staff work closely with the Medical Examiner's Office, the Courts, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and the public. When fully staffed, the Property Room is a ten-person team who work day shifts, Monday – Friday and rotating on-call for after hours and weekends.

Property Room Officers are responsible for a variety of tasks relating to the storage and safekeeping of property and evidence.
