CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt

REPORTS TO: Communications Director

LOCATION: Portland, OR (hybrid)

SALARY RANGE: $70,000 - $85,000 annual

While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.


GSI Water Solutions, Inc. (GSI), is seeking an energetic and motivated Proposal and Marketing Specialist who will support the marketing team and technical staff in preparing pursuit materials, brochures, website and social media content, and maintaining our library of marketing materials. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who isn’t afraid to ask questions and is excited to dive into nerdy, scientific details to help bring out the real story that makes our materials shine.

The Proposal and Marketing Specialist works closely with senior marketing staff and technical staff, receiving guidance while building confidence and skill in proposal coordination and marketing content development.


IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Develop and prepare proposal drafts, qualifications packages, and interview materials, working closely with subject matter experts and pursuit teams on key messaging.
  • Coordinate with our graphic designer to format proposals and marketing materials to make our materials shine and visually communicate key messages.
  • Manage the proposal development process, including assigning deadlines, assembling required components, and tracking submission requirements.
  • Work with technical staff to update our library of project descriptions, staff resumes, boilerplate materials, website content, and marketing brochures.
  • Edit and proofread materials to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Search procurement sites for relevant Requests for Proposals.
  • Update and maintain our marketing content library in our asset management system.
  • Support client and market research efforts as assigned.
  • Manage swag inventory, business cards orders, and sponsorships, and provide support to technical staff attending conferences as needed, including coordinating/scheduling client appreciation events.
  • Support with updating corporate website, Intranet, and social media presence.
  • Support as-needed communications and marketing assignments.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Typical ways to obtain the required knowledge and abilities include:


  • 8 years of experience in the AEC industry.
  • -OR- a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, journalism, or other relevant discipline plus a minimum of 4 years of professional experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

Current and valid driver's license and clean driving record.

VALUED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.
  • Graphic design experience using Adobe InDesign or Illustrator is a plus.

  • Occasional travel to support conference and events may be needed.
  • Overnight stay may be required at the expense of GSI.
