Proposals Lead - Transportation Market

Overview

Join AtkinsRéalis as our Proposals Lead – Transportation Market, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping and winning major pursuits across Rail, Roads, Aviation, Defence, and related sub‑markets. As part of our regional Growth & Sales team, you will collaborate with technical leaders, market specialists, and senior stakeholders to drive successful, high‑impact proposals that support our continued growth across the Middle East.

Your role

Strategic Sales & Market Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all Transportation market sales and growth activities across the region.
  • Review RFPs and develop clear project summaries to support informed Bid/No‑Bid decisions.
  • Ensure all relevant technical and commercial disciplines are fully briefed on current and upcoming opportunities.

Bid Leadership & Governance

  • Facilitate and coordinate win‑work activities including Bid/No‑Bid meetings, capture planning, storyboarding, and lessons‑learned sessions.
  • Drive adherence to corporate governance processes, systems, and controls.
  • Ensure consistent and effective use of tools and processes to maximize win probability.

Proposal Development & Technical Coordination

  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure a robust, complaint, and client‑focused technical response.
  • Ensure all submissions are compliant, compelling, error‑free, and delivered in the correct format and on deadline.
  • Provide structure and organization for bid teams, promoting efficiency and clarity throughout the proposal lifecycle.
  • Review technical content to ensure full alignment with client requirements.

Commercial & Financial Contributions

  • Generate top‑down financial estimates and support pricing models using benchmarking tools.
  • Bring strong commercial awareness to support risk evaluation and competitive positioning.
  • Work with Transportation Market leadership to shape a robust commercial offering.

Client Engagement & Presentation Leadership

  • Lead the preparation and delivery of client interviews and presentations.
  • Provide coaching, creative input, and strategic direction to ensure a winning, high‑impact approach.

Knowledge, Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Take ownership of Transportation Market proposal collateral (CVs, project sheets, model answers, best‑practice materials).
  • Drive improvements, new ideas, and smarter ways of working across the organization.
  • Support capture planning and win strategy sessions to secure timely approvals.

About you

  • Experience leading proposals from capture stage through to award.
  • Preferably experience within the Middle East professional services environment; transportation and defence sector experience is a strong advantage.
  • Assertive, enthusiastic, highly organised, and adaptable approach to fast‑paced work.
  • Strong people leadership and stakeholder‑management skills at all levels.
  • Confidence to progress activities, engage colleagues, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Degree‑level education or equivalent professional qualification, ideally in engineering, construction, business, or marketing.
  • 7–10 years' experience in project management, proposals, or bids roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Dynamics CRM.
  • Experience running and facilitating workshops that shape winning strategies.
  • Arabic language skills are an advantage.
