Key Responsibilities:

Design and development of liquid fuel injection systems for aero engine applications
-
Understanding and application of systems level modelling approach for engine design
-
Development of combustors from systems level design and requirements
-
Development of HPC based digital twins, employing multiphase and reactive flow models. Concept evaluation using simulation tools
-
Coordinate with design and manufacturing team and vendors for successful realization of components
-
Understanding of combustion test rig and experimental campaigns
-
Hardware testing on test rigs followed by rapid design iterations. Engine ground testing followed by data analysis and design revisions. Setting up advanced experiments using laser diagnostics
-
Understanding of liquid fuel flow systems for Jet A and high-pressure plumbing. Understanding of best practices related to high pressure plumbing lines, pressure regulation and formulation of P&IDs

Experience with safety protocols in testing

Coordinating with turbomachinery team for system integration.
Required Qualifications and Skills
-
Bachelors/ Masters or PhD in Aerospace or related fields, with a focus on propulsion
-
Understanding of fundamental combustion and multiphase flow concepts
-
Understanding of aero engine/gas turbine technologies, thermodynamic cycles and basic systems level analysis
-
Demonstrated experience with combustion experiments and hardware development. Experience with laser-based visualization experiments
-
Demonstrated experience with multiphase/spray measurements and experiments
-
Experience building fuel injection systems and combustors for aerospace applications. Understanding of basic fuel injection concepts.
Preferred Skills

Understanding of combustion and multiphase models and commercial CFD tools

Hands on experience with gas turbines and aero engines
-
Understanding of conjugate heat transfer and modelling techniques.

Understanding of super alloys and materials relevant to aero engine parts

Understanding of machining and manufacturing processes
