Protection Engineer

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronics engineering from a

reputed university (Course duration 4 years).

❖ Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in protection system of HV/MV

substations and live protection maintenance experience in 11 kV distribution

systems with similar utility systems. The Protection Engineers shall have

experience in testing of Electromechanical / Static / Numerical Relays, Testing

of CT/VTs, Numerical relay configurations, Relay firmware down/upgradation,

setting, testing, Pilot differential/Fiber optic Differential Protection

commissioning, Directional Over Current/Directional Earth Fault Protection

commissioning, trouble shooting of Protection and controls system, Grading,

SCS, SCADA & GOOSE communication systems, etc. Candidate shall be well

familiar with control, Protection, and communication drawing to understand

control, Protection & communication schemes of the substations. Work

experience in “live system” is mandatory.

❖ Out of the total years of experience, only protection experience will be

considered. Other experiences including Substation equipment testing (such as

switchgear testing, transformer testing, etc.), other electrical maintenances,

office activities, Design activities, inspection, Operation, etc. will not be

considered

❖ Online based courses, Hybrid courses (both online and physical), etc. will not

be considered in Qualifications. Certificate attestation is mandatory as per Qatar

government rules and regulations, for both educational qualifications and

experiences.

❖ Priority will be provided for those who are well experienced in Kahramaa

Primary & secondary substation protection systems.

❖ Candidate shall have good proficiency in English – to Speak, Read & Write.
