Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Protection & Switchgear Testing Engineers with extensive ADNOC Offshore experience to perform testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical protection systems and switchgear equipment. The role requires expertise in protection relay testing and testing of medium- and low-voltage switchgear systems while ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, industry regulations, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical protection systems and switchgear equipment.
• Perform protection relay testing, calibration, configuration, and functional verification.
• Conduct testing of 22kV, 6.6kV, and 380V switchgear systems.
• Execute primary and secondary injection testing of protection relays.
• Verify protection schemes, interlocks, trip circuits, alarms, and control logic.
• Perform commissioning activities for transformers, feeders, motors, generators, and associated protection systems.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, protection schemes, single-line diagrams, and test procedures.
• Prepare testing reports, commissioning records, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot faults and provide corrective actions for protection and switchgear-related issues.
• Ensure all testing activities are performed in accordance with ADNOC Offshore requirements, IEC standards, and project specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, operations personnel, commissioning teams, and project engineers.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, and offshore safety procedures.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of electrical protection systems and switchgear testing.
• Expertise in testing and commissioning of:
• Protection Relays
• 22kV Switchgear
• 6.6kV Switchgear
• 380V LV Switchgear
• Experience with primary injection and secondary injection test equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems and protection coordination.
• Ability to analyze protection settings and fault records.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Experience

• ADNOC Offshore projects and brownfield/greenfield commissioning experience.
• Experience with leading protection relay manufacturers such as Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, GE, or SEL.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, and ADNOC electrical standards.

HSE Requirements

• Strict adherence to ADNOC Offshore HSE regulations and permit-to-work procedures.
• Ensure safe execution of testing and commissioning activities in offshore environments.
• Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety meetings as required.
