Qualifications:
-
Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
-
Experience: Healthcare Public Safety/Police, preferred.

Licensure/Certification: IAHSS Basic and/or Adv Training Certifications within 6 months of hire, required.

NCPPSB Armed Security Office Registration Permit within 12 months of hire, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire, required
Additional Skills (required):
-
BLS/CPR within 90 days of hire through employment. Must qualify for and maintain a North Carolina Private Protective Service Board Armed Security Officer Registration Permit in accordance with annual training and qualification standards established by Novant Health.

Public contact experience.

Satisfactorily completes all required organizational and departmental basic, field, and in-service training courses as well as courses that support our Emergency Management efforts such as decontamination or hazardous materials awareness training .

Basic computer skills.

Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.

Ability to accurately receive and transmit information by radio and telephone.

Ability to translate observations and information into legible, complete, and accurate reports.

No criminal record. Maintains valid driver's license in the state of residence. Maintains compliance with the Novant Health Vehicle Use, Requirements & Guidelines Policy. Immediately notifies Director of Public Safety or Public Safety Manager of any and all charges relating to the operation of a motor vehicle and/or criminal complaint.
