Mon: 5am - 1pm; Tue-Fri: 7am - 3pm

Salary:

$26.75/hr per SRP Contract

Duties:

• Supervises and participates in cleaning, moving furniture and equipment, cutting grass, removing snow, and other ground maintenance.
• Makes minor repairs and operates boilers.
• Trains new employees, manages workers, and evaluates work performance.
• Performs other duties as required by the Administrator.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently hold the Head Custodian Civil Service title OR be reachable from the eligible Civil Service list OR be able to pass the Civil Service Head Custodian exam in accordance with Civil Service regulations.
• Graduation from High School or possession of aHigh School Equivalency Diploma and three (3) years experience in commercial cleaning practices or general building maintenance, including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing; OR seven (7) years experience in commercial cleaning or general building maintenance, including carpentry,electrical, HVAC, or plumbing; OR an equivalent combination of above.
• Possession of a valid Class D NYS driver's license.

Qualifications Desired:

• Thorough knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of the operation and maintenance of gas- or oil-fired low and high pressure boiler equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of the tools, terminology, and practices of the skilled trades.
• Good knowledge of grounds maintenance.
• Ability to plan and supervise the work of custodial, cleaning, and maintenance personnel.
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
• Proven ability to interact with faculty/staff, students, parents, and school/civic groups
• Dependability, thoroughness, and physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
