Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Services Representative to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth administrative operations within our medical facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions. Bilingual abilities and familiarity with medical terminology are highly valued to support our diverse patient population.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using our electronic health record system
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and personal data, through accurate data entry
- Answer incoming phone calls with proper phone etiquette, addressing inquiries efficiently
- Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed
- Manage patient records securely while maintaining confidentiality in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers to facilitate seamless care delivery
- Support billing processes by verifying insurance coverage and processing payments as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a welcoming environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with data entry and electronic health record systems
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on clear and empathetic interaction
- Phone etiquette expertise to manage high call volumes courteously and efficiently
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities (especially in English) are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
- Ability to analyze information accurately and maintain attention to detail under pressure
- Prior experience in medical office administration or related roles is advantageous but not mandatory
