Compensation: Starting at $249,600/yr
POSITION SUMMARY
The Psychiatric Clinician (PMHNP, MD, or DO) provides psychiatric and medication management services within a peer-integrated Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This fully licensed role is essential to supporting client stabilization and recovery, in close collaboration with non-clinical peer staff and licensed behavioral health clinicians. We are seeking individuals who bring deep knowledge of harm reduction practices, a commitment to trauma-informed care, and experience working with underserved populations. This position is not an on-call role and offers flexible hours within a collaborative, community-based environment.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning in accordance with DSM-5 criteria.
· Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as appropriate to support mental health and substance use recovery.
· Collaborate with peer recovery coaches and licensed clinicians to ensure integrated, person-centered care.
· Provide medication education, harm reduction strategies, and health counseling to clients and their support networks.
· Document services accurately in compliance with HCPF, BHA, and agency requirements.
· Consult with the interdisciplinary team and participate in case review meetings.
· Support coordination of care with external providers, hospitals, and managed care organizations.
· Uphold ethical, legal, and medical standards established by DORA, DEA, and relevant medical boards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
· Active and unrestricted Colorado license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Psychiatrist (MD), or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
· DEA registration with the ability to prescribe controlled substances in Colorado.
· Credentialed or eligible for credentialing with CCHA and CO ACCESS for Medicaid billing.
· Experience working in community behavioral health or substance use treatment settings.
· Proficiency in trauma-informed care and harm reduction strategies.
· Clear background check and compliance with all agency onboarding requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working in interdisciplinary or peer-integrated treatment models.
· Experience treating co-occurring disorders and working with justice-involved or medically underserved populations.
· Familiarity with Medicaid documentation standards and behavioral health EHR systems.
· Multilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply—especially speakers of Afghani languages (e.g., Dari, Pashto) and Spanish.
