Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to diverse patient populations. Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring appropriate dosages and monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate psychotherapy, medication management, and patient education.
  • Collaborate with physicians, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic care.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and treatment progress.
  • Provide telehealth services to expand access to mental health care across diverse settings.
  • Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with valid licensure in the practicing state.
  • Proven experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings, including outpatient clinics or inpatient units.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for efficient documentation.
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication management protocols.
  • Strong assessment skills with the ability to evaluate complex mental health conditions across age groups including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and engage patients compassionately. Pay: $106,905.22 - $128,746.06 per year
