the New Life Counseling, a private practice counseling agency in Dover, is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a skilled clinician who is passionate about mental health and values a team-oriented, client-focused environment.
The PMHNP will provide direct psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management for clients presenting with a range of mental health concerns. They will serve as leaders in a multidisciplinary team working to enhance the overall well-being of our clients. As a valued member of our team, they will collaborate with NLC’s treatment teams to design, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans. Primary responsibilities will include conducting psychiatric evaluations, performing assessments, and managing medications for clients.

Requirements:
- Provides direct psychiatric/mental health care, which may be done in person or via videoconferencing (e.g., conducts mental health and psychopharmacological assessments, formulates mental health diagnoses, and provides psychotropic medication management consistent with formulary, orders lab tests)
- Performs mental health evaluations for the purposes of formulating diagnoses and determining whether psychotropic medication is indicated for the treatment of presenting conditions
- Prescribes medication as needed
- Orders, interprets, and analyzes laboratory reports and findings
- Documents all clinical encounters and medication management appointments in the health record
- Participates in treatment planning and treatment team meetings pertaining to his/her caseload patients
- Provides clinical consultation to mental health staff on issues pertaining to psychotropic medication management and other clinical issues
- Receives clinical supervision from collaborating physician on a regular basis
- Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities
- Maintains clinical competency
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Nurse Practitioner, you will:
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide individualized care for all patients based on individual symptoms, needs and evaluation and in accordance with the agreed-upon treatment plan.
- May provide regular oversight to allied health professionals within the organization.
- Express ideas effectively in individual, public, and group situations and work collaboratively to find solutions to problems.

- Participate and engage as needed in business development, growth, and program expansion.
- Communicate in person, via Telehealth, and telephone for services provided as necessary.
Minimum Required Education:
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Nursing
- Graduation from a state-certified advanced practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health
Minimum Required Experience:
- At least 3 years of direct clinical care experience in behavioral health as a PMHNP
- Proficiency in working with pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations.
- Specialty NP experience in Behavioral Health
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Dedication to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
Preferred Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a psychiatric provider
Licenses/Certifications:
- Must have a certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Must have an unrestricted license to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state of Ohio
- Must have a valid DEA number and an unrestricted DEA license in Ohio
- No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP)
- Maintain credentials and licensure with all major insurance companies and licensing boards with the assistance of our credentialing staff
Other Skills Required:
- Experience in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
- Proficiency in documenting and navigating electronic health records (EHR) independently
- Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality
- Ability to serve as a representative of NLC, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with team members.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a preferred full-time position, however, part-time work will be considered. Hours are scheduled to accommodate an outpatient office.
