Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert psychiatric care, including assessment, consult with clinicians, parents and Medical Director, diagnose and treatment planning for adolescent patients across mental health conditions. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and physiological assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing psychopharmacology, therapy modalities, and other interventions aligned with best practices.
- Prescribe medications such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and other psychiatric medications following state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up visits, adjusting treatment strategies as needed while maintaining detailed medical documentation in Kipu EMR (Electronic Medical Records) .
- Provide patient education on medication management, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies to promote mental health resilience.
- Follow clinical research related to behavioral health or psychiatric treatments to stay at the forefront of mental health advancements.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current licensure in the state of practice.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse adolescent populations.
- Proficiency in Kipu EMR/EHR for accurate medical documentation and patient management is preferred.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles including medication administration, monitoring for adverse effects, and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Experience with telehealth platforms to provide remote psychiatric consultations effectively.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health assessments, crisis intervention techniques, and acute pain management when applicable.
- Additional skills in trauma-informed care, or working with adolescents with acute mood disorders is advantageous but not mandatory.
