Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for diverse patient populations. Your expertise will help improve mental health outcomes through evidence-based interventions, medication management, and patient education. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in individuals' lives across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and telehealth platforms. We value energetic professionals committed to advancing mental health care with a positive and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients of all ages, including children, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring efficacy and side effects in accordance with state regulations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and case management strategies.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to mental health services for remote or underserved populations.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing psychiatric care standards.

Experience

  • Valid state licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent certifying body.
  • Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, or assisted living facilities.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management.
  • Experience working with diverse populations across age groups—children (pediatrics), adults, seniors (geriatrics), and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles, medication administration protocols, and monitoring for adverse effects.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote patient engagement tools to deliver high-quality psychiatric services virtually.
  • Background in acute care environments such as emergency rooms or Level I trauma centers is advantageous but not mandatory. Join us in delivering energetic, explicit psychiatric care that transforms lives! We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where your skills in medical documentation, medication management—including botulinum toxin treatments—and patient assessment thrive. Whether working in inpatient units or outpatient clinics, your dedication will help shape the future of mental health services while enjoying comprehensive support tailored to your professional growth.
