Duties

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 coding standards.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring for efficacy and side effects, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
• Provide evidence-based psychotherapy interventions and coordinate with case management teams for holistic patient care.
• Administer specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy, dermal fillers, or esthetic laser treatments when applicable.
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and medical records management.
• Engage in telehealth services to expand access to mental health care, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards including HIPAA.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current state licensure.
• Proven experience in behavioral health settings with exposure to acute care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers preferred.
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration and management of complex psychiatric conditions.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient tracking.
• Experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, assisted living residents, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Critical care experience or hospital medicine background is highly desirable to handle complex cases effectively.
