Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in psychiatric assessment, medication management, and patient-centered care. In this role, you will provide expert mental health services, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support patients across various age groups to improve their overall well-being through evidence-based practices and compassionate engagement.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients of all ages.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring patient responses and adjusting treatments accordingly.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling sessions tailored to patient needs, including behavioral health interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication adherence strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as MEDENT.
- Participate in case management activities, discharge planning, and utilization review to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Engage in telehealth services to expand access to mental health care for diverse populations.
Experience
- Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current licensure.
- Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings, including outpatient clinics or hospital environments.
- Proficiency with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or geriatric populations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication management for complex psychiatric conditions.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and acute care procedures within hospital or emergency room settings.
- Background in working with diverse patient populations across various healthcare environments such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or Telehealth platforms. Pay: $75,567.25 - $91,005.73 per year
