Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), where you'll play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health care to diverse patient populations including victims and survivors of human trafficking. Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and diagnostic evaluations using EMR systems like Epic and eClinicalWorks.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, therapy, and other modalities such as Botulinum toxin treatment or esthetic laser treatments when applicable.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient, outpatient, telehealth, and community settings to coordinate care for patients with complex behavioral health needs.
  • Engage in patient education and health coaching to promote mental wellness, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Participate in clinical research or quality improvement initiatives to advance behavioral health practices.
  • Provide crisis intervention, triage services, and acute pain management for patients experiencing psychiatric emergencies or acute episodes.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current state licensure.
  • Proven experience working with diverse populations, including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those in assisted living or nursing home environments.
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, psychopharmacology, and diagnostic coding systems such as ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation and patient records management.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms to deliver remote mental health services effectively.
  • Critical care experience or hospital medicine background preferred; familiarity with trauma centers or emergency room settings is a plus.
  • Skills in patient assessment, medication administration, IV infusion, sterile processing techniques, and physical examinations are highly valued.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while demonstrating excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Pay: $135,000.00 - $167,278.77 per year
