Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing group practice. This role offers the opportunity to help shape a collaborative, patient-centered mental health environment while providing high-quality psychiatric care to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and treatment planning
  • Diagnose and manage mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other psychiatric disorders
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Provide psychotherapy and supportive counseling as appropriate
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Collaborate with therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals within the group practice
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication management
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with specialization in psychiatric mental health
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Active and unrestricted state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
  • DEA license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in outpatient or private practice settings
  • Interest in building and growing within a group practice
  • Familiarity with telepsychiatry platforms
  • Experience with diverse patient populations

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Outpatient group practice setting
  • Flexible scheduling (full-time or part-time options available)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week

  • Psychiatry: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (Required)
