Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing group practice. This role offers the opportunity to help shape a collaborative, patient-centered mental health environment while providing high-quality psychiatric care to a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and treatment planning
- Diagnose and manage mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other psychiatric disorders
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Provide psychotherapy and supportive counseling as appropriate
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals within the group practice
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication management
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with specialization in psychiatric mental health
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Active and unrestricted state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
- DEA license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in outpatient or private practice settings
- Interest in building and growing within a group practice
- Familiarity with telepsychiatry platforms
- Experience with diverse patient populations
