We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and diagnostic assessments using ICD-10 coding standards.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including psychopharmacology treatments tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers to develop and implement personalized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and acute care management for patients experiencing mental health emergencies or behavioral crises.
- Utilize telehealth platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, medication management, and coping strategies.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing mental health services.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current state licensure.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health protocols, trauma-informed care, and crisis triage procedures.
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards such as CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, assess vital signs, and hold a basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred.
