Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients across various age groups, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care while utilizing both in-person and telehealth services.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to treatment.
  • Document all medical records accurately and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Offer telehealth services to increase accessibility for patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients with complex needs, including those requiring memory care or behavioral health support.
  • Perform necessary medical procedures such as IV insertion and vital signs monitoring.
  • Stay updated on best practices in mental health care, including the use of DME (Durable Medical Equipment) when applicable.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatments, and coping strategies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health.
  • Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Valid nursing license in the state of practice.
  • Experience in telehealth practices is preferred.
  • Strong skills in medical documentation and maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
