Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

JOB DESCRIPTION

My Psychiatrist is a well-established multi-disciplinary outpatient mental health group practice. We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assessing patients' mental health, conducting mental health screenings and evaluations to identify potential mental health disorders
  • Developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients
  • Prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications
  • Monitoring and adjusting medications as needed to ensure effectiveness and minimize side effects
  • Educating patients and their families about mental health conditions, medications, and lifestyle changes that can improve overall well-being
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, counselors, social workers, and psychiatrists, to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Providing crisis intervention and stabilization patients in emergency situations
  • Keeping accurate patient records and documentation
  • Staying up-to-date with best practices and advancements in the field of psychiatric mental health nursing to ensure high-quality care.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing
  • Valid Virginia state license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

License/Certification:

  • Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia (Preferred)
  • PMHNP certification (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Reston, VA 20191 (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
