Overview
Elysium Psychiatric Services is looking for a new Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join us (at least initially) on a part-time basis at our practice. This is a remote only position in which you will conduct telehealth appointments with patients. you may work entirely from home and we offer flexible hours. Our goal is to help foster a supportive environment for patients facing a range of mental health challenges. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based pharmacological interventions to promote recovery. We provide an office management and billing team as well as experienced NPs to assist you with anything with which you may need help.
Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status exams, and risk assessments, utilizing an advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic (both controlled and non-controlled) medications in accordance with clinical guidelines and state regulations, ensuring safe medication management.
- Educate patients on mental health conditions, medication administration (including injections), lifestyle modifications, and community resources.
- Document all clinical encounters accurately in the EMR/EHR systems maintaining compliance with NCQA standards.
Experience
- Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with active licensure in the state of Maryland.
- Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, or assisted living facilities.
- Proficiency as a diagnostician to arrive at the accurate diagnosis for any patient being evaluated.
- Proficiency in utilizing EMR/EHR systems for electronic documentation, patient management and prescribing.
- Experience with pharmacological treatments including psychopharmacology principles, medication administration techniques, and the prescribing of controlled substances.
- Familiarity with diverse patient populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Thorough understanding of diagnostic evaluation tools such as ICD-10 coding standards and CPT coding for billing purposes.
