Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status exams, and diagnostic assessments using ICD-10 coding standards.
- Provide psychotherapy services (such as CBT, supportive therapy, trauma-informed care, or other evidence-based modalities) as a primary component of treatment.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications when clinically appropriate, ensuring proper medication administration and monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, psychopharmacology when needed, and case management strategies.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner to document patient encounters accurately and maintain comprehensive medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide telehealth services to expand access to mental health care for individuals with mobility or transportation challenges.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, coping skills, and therapeutic strategies to promote ongoing recovery.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives related to behavioral health and contribute to quality improvement projects aligned with NCQA standards.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current state licensure.
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in providing psychotherapy as a central part of clinical practice.
- Experience in behavioral health settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals, or community mental health programs.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, ICD-10 coding, CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical documentation standards.
- Experience working with diverse populations such as children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring dementia or Alzheimer's care.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; telehealth experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including mental status exams and clinical evaluations.

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
