Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to individuals with SMI Diagnoses. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals in a supportive environment that values patient-centered care and evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients to determine their mental health needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and evidence-based practices.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring their effectiveness and side effects.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to patients, utilizing various therapeutic modalities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including social workers, psychologists, and primary care providers, to ensure holistic patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery within the practice.

Skills
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

• Experience working with the SMI population , providing acute psychiatric care.
• Understanding of utilization management principles to optimize patient care.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, tailoring approaches to meet their unique needs.
• Skilled in aseptic technique for safe clinical practices.
