Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in behavioral health, mental health assessments, and pharmacological management. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and telehealth platforms. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as SimplePractice, and have a strong background in patient assessment, medication management, and clinical research. Experience with diverse patient populations—including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities—is highly valued. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments utilizing advanced clinical skills in physiology knowledge and medical terminology.
- Prescribe and manage medications, including psychopharmacology treatments
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic evaluation and patient history.
- Monitor patient progress through vital signs measurement, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Accurate and timely medical documentation and coding (ICD-9/10, CPT).
- Provide telehealth services leveraging telehealth experience to expand access to behavioral health care.
- Educate patients on health coaching topics including nutrition, medication adherence, and disease management.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical records and documentation.
Experience
- Proven experience in behavioral health settings.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR system
- Background working with diverse populations: geriatrics (memory care/dementia care), pediatrics (neonatal ventilator/toddler care), hospice & palliative medicine, or working with people with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law or utilization management processes is desirable.
