Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. The nurse practitioner would provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, prescribe and manage medications, and offer ongoing follow-up care to support clients’ mental health and wellness. The ideal candidate is skilled in clinical assessment, empathetic communication, and evidence-based psychiatric care. This position is per diem and the nurse practitioner would provide virtual appointments remotely.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health disorders and illnesses

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families

• Prescribe and manage medications as needed

• Provide counseling to patients

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and practice standards.

• Stay current with best practices, research, and guidelines in psychiatric and psychopharmacological care.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) license.

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

• Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in psychiatry or behavioral health is preferred.

• Current DEA license and prescribing authority.

• Strong clinical judgement, interpersonal communication, and documentation skills.

• Comfortable using telehealth platforms and electronic health records (EHR).

• Empathetic, professional, and client-centered approach to care.
