Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) Counselor

Position Summary

Embracing Tranquility Behavioral Healthcare is seeking compassionate and motivated PRP Counselors to support individuals with mental health diagnoses in developing the skills necessary to live independently and successfully within their communities. PRP Counselors provide person-centered rehabilitation services that focus on strengthening daily living skills, coping strategies, employment readiness, and community integration.

The PRP Counselor will work closely with clients, families, and treatment providers to help individuals achieve personal goals related to stability, independence, and overall wellness

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric rehabilitation services to clients in the home, office, and community settings.
• Assist clients in developing independent living skills, including budgeting, organization, household management, and time management.
• Support clients with employment readiness, including job search assistance, resume development, and interview preparation.
• Facilitate skill-bonding interventions focused on coping skills, social skills, decision making, and emotional regulation.
• Link clients to community resources such as housing support, employment services, education programs, and healthcare providers.
• Develop and implement Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs) in collaboration with the client and treatment team.
• Document services in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services,Counseling, or a related field preferred.
• Associate's degree with relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Reliable transportation for community-based services.
• Ability to pass background check and required clearances.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of community mental health resources.
• Experience with psychiatric rehabilitation services or case management.
• Familiarity with documentation systems and treatment planning.
