JOB TITLE: Psychiatrist

REPORTS TO: CCBHC Program Director

PSYCHIATRIST

Interborough Developmental and Consultation Center, a behavioral health Article 31 Clinic is seeking an experienced psychiatrist to join our team. You will be responsible for assessing patients, diagnosing or ruling out mental disorders, prescribing treatments, and conducting regular follow-up appointments to monitor the patient's progress.

PSYCHIATRIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluation and Assessment.
• Medication Evaluation
• On-going pharmacologic treatment
• Participates in incident review as needed
• Participates in treatment planning
• Participates in case conferences as needed
• Diagnosing patients accurately.
• Developing comprehensive treatment plans and prescribing medication as needed.
• Regularly following up with the patient to check progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed.
• Thoroughly documenting each patient's diagnosis, symptoms, medication, treatment effectiveness, etc.
• Providing patients with emotional support and strategies to help manage their disorder.
• Researching new developments in psychiatry and mental health.

PSYCHIATRIST REQUIREMENTS:

• Doctor of Medicine from Accredited Medical School,
• Minimum 3 years psychiatric experience under supervision in a residency program from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency
• NYS Board of Psychiatry certification and license.
• Current DEA registration
• Expert diagnostic skills.
• Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria
• Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques
• Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
