Job Overview

The Derech Shalom Center is seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist (MD preferred) to collaborate with and provide clinical oversight and supervision to the clinic’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). The Psychiatrist will oversee evaluations, treatment plans and medication management. This remote role requires an active New York State Medical License and DEA registration.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision to the clinic’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
• (PMHNP)
• Review and provide clinical oversight of psychiatric assessments and diagnostic
• evaluations
• Conduct ongoing supervision and support clinical decision-making
• Evaluate psychiatric assessments to confirm accurate diagnoses and treatment planning
• Sign and maintain collaborative agreements as part of supervision
• Participate in quality assurance (QA) and prescribing oversight initiatives

Requirements

• Medical degree from an accredited institution with board certification in Psychiatry
• Proven expertise in pediatric psychiatry, geriatrics, inpatient care, outpatient clinics, or hospital settings.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation techniques, psychopharmacology, and mental health assessment tools.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based psychiatric care.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and proficient in medical documentation and record keeping.
• Experience supervising or collaborating with nurse practitioners (preferred)
• Experience in providing supervision for adolescent patients (preferred)
• Active DEA Registration
• Active, unrestricted New York State medical license
• Telehealth experience is a plus for delivering remote psychiatric services efficiently.

Employment Type: Per Diem (2-6 hours per week)

Location: Remote

Pay: $250.00 - $350.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2.0 – 6.0 per week

Work Location: Remote
