Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health, with experience in various settings, including outpatient clinics. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans for patients of all ages, including children and geriatrics. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of patient care.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, utilizing psychopharmacology and psychotherapy techniques.
  • Provide crisis management and support for patients experiencing acute mental health issues.
  • Offer addiction counseling and support for patients with substance use disorders.
  • Manage patient care through telehealth services as needed, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and data collection for ongoing patient evaluation.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for patients, particularly those with developmental disabilities or PTSD.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in psychiatric nursing.

Experience

  • A minimum of two years of post-residency experience in psychiatry or psychiatric nursing is preferred.
  • Experience working with pediatric psychiatry and children is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with hospital settings and inpatient care is essential.
  • Previous experience in outpatient clinic environments is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health principles, mental health counseling techniques, and medical terminology.
  • Proven ability to perform intake assessments and provide ongoing patient evaluations.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $140.00 - $180.00 per hour
