Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients across various age groups, including children, adults, and seniors.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate psychopharmacology, therapy referrals, and lifestyle modifications.
- Manage medication administration with precision, including injections, IV infusions, and botulinum toxin treatments when applicable.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to mental health services in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication use, and self-care strategies to foster recovery and resilience.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in Psychiatry or Mental Health Nursing.
- Proven experience in behavioral health settings with exposure to acute care environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Emergency Rooms preferred.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication management for complex psychiatric conditions.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (Pediatrics), geriatrics (Geriatrics), memory care, hospice & palliative medicine, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures such as suturing, venipuncture, catheterization, spinal taps, dermal fillers or esthetic laser treatments is a plus.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for billing purposes, and familiarity with Workers' Compensation law is advantageous.
- Critical care experience including ICU or PICU settings enhances your ability to manage complex cases effectively.
