Essential Job Functions

Assist students, faculty, administration, and general public with research needs in person, by phone, and remotely using email and chat reference services.

Develop and conduct library instruction sessions, print and electronic library research guides, and assignments that incorporate ACRL information literacy standards.

Review, select, and deselect library resources for purchase in accordance with institutional goals.

Assist patrons using software, Internet applications, printing, and college-related online services accessed through the library’s public workstations.

Engage in outreach strategies to students, faculty, staff, and administration to increase awareness about library resources and services.

Serve on library and college-wide committees.
Additional Job Functions

Maintain records and statistical data on library functions and services as appropriate.

Fulfill incoming and outgoing interlibrary loan requests for South campus and keep statistics on usage.

Review catalog records of new book acquisitions for accuracy of bibliographic information.

Promote library resources and campus events with monthly displays.

Maintain professional competencies appropriate to the position .
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Reference skills.
Library instruction skills.
Evaluation of library materials.
Knowledge of MS Office, library databases, and integrated library systems.
Ability to multi-task, be service-oriented, and work well with the public.
Education And Experience
Required Education:
Master's Degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
Required Experience
: Entry-level position.
Monday-Thursday 4pm-9pm
Salary Grade:
LIBR
Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year.
