Oblon is seeking a Patent Agent to join the Firm on a part-time basis to assist with post-allowance file reviews. Candidates must have at least 5 years of post-AIA patent prosecution experience and possess a technical background in chemistry, chemical engineering or electrical/computer engineering. The position would involve reviewing allowed applications to ensure quality and completeness. This would include identifying and correcting defects in prosecution files, participating in examiner discussions, and preparing and filing Rule 312 amendments and petitions. Candidates must possess excellent attention to detail and knowledge of USPTO rules. Strong technical knowledge, writing and communication skills are required. Experienced USPTO examiners welcome to apply.
Candidates must be registered to practice before the USPTO and in good standing. The anticipated schedule for this position would be 20 hours per week and the salary range is $55-85 per hour. The salary offered will depend upon qualifications and experience. While on-site presence is preferred, the Firm will consider remote candidates.
