Description of Pet Sitter/Dog Walker Position

• Travel to and from client's home during scheduled time frames to perform various animal care duties requested by the client including (but not limited to); feeding, watering, providing potty breaks, exercising, brushing, walking, providing love and companionship to the residence pets as well as cleaning up after and removing of pet waste. Provide treats and medications as per client instructions. Understand special requests and conditions for each dog.
• Walk dogs outdoors in any weather conditions for an allotted amount of time ranging from 15minute to 1hour per client several times a day. Ensure the safety of the dog(s) you are walking and the humans/dogs around them.
• Observe pets for signs of illness, distress, or other behavior concerns and report them immediately to the owner of 4-Legged Friends or the client if you are unable to contact owner and it is deemed urgent. In the event of an emergency transport pet(s) in your vehicle to client's vet. Contact owner of 4-Legged Friends during the emergency and if necessary the client.
• Ensure security of client's home when entering and leaving. Must take measures and assume responsibly to not lose client's keys and/or get locked out.
• Answer inquiries related to the services you provided to a client's pet(s). Complete a daily log each time you visit with a client's pet(s). Logs will be provided by 4-Legged Friends Pet Services, LLC and should include arrival and departure times, tasks completed, pet's behavior, what the pet enjoyed, anything unusual and any other noteworthy happenings.
• If requested attend meet and greets with existing or new clients.
• Must respect the confidentiality inherent in working inside a client's personal home. Friends and children must not be present on visits. Be accountable. The mere foundation of client/sitter relationships are built on trust.
• Perform other duties requested by the client including but not limited; to taking in the mail and newspaper, rotate blinds and/or lights, turn on/off a radio or tv, watering plants, taking in or out garbage cans, filling up bird feeders.

Skills and Abilites Required:

• Must Love Pets
• Has a valid drivers license in good standing
• Must be able to work independently and adhere to a schedule
• Must be honest and dependable
• Possess excellent time management skills and is highly organized.
• Has an excellent attention to detail
• Can empathize with pet owners and their pets.
• Demonstrates patience when interacting with pet(s) and handles pets in a positive, force-free manner
• Possess excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time and be able to walk up to 2 dogs at a time.
• Requires bending & lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Has the ability to communicate by phone, email or text
• Handles emergency situations in a calm and confident manner
• Able to administer medications to pet.
• Is familiar with signs of illness in pets and able to read their body language.
• Has a desire to learn and expand their knowledge

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
